Strong Non-oil Sector Performance Propels the UAE Economy’s 3% Growth in Q1 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, the UAE’s real gross domestic product increased by 3% to Dhs485 billion at constant prices, while non-oil GDP increased by 4.8% to account for 79.4% of the country’s GDP. Despite the regional difficulties encountered during the first quarter, which affected a small number of activities and had no bearing on the overall trajectory of economic growth, the figures show the continued strength of non-oil economic activities and the resilience of the national economy.

The contribution of non-oil activities to GDP rose to 79.4% in Q1 2026 from 78.0% in 2025, according to data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, highlighting the success of the UAE’s economic diversification policies and advancement toward the goals of the “We the UAE 2031″ Vision.

According to Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the outcomes demonstrated the effectiveness of development initiatives meant to boost the contribution of non-oil industries to the country’s economy.

The Q1 2026 results demonstrate the ability of the UAE’s government work system to convert the strategic vision of the wise leadership into concrete economic outcomes that benefit people and the future,” he stated.
