Due to Phoney Sick Leave Certificates Sent Over WhatsApp, Abu Dhabi Closes Four Clinics

Four medical institutions have been closed while their employees are referred to the Public Prosecution for questioning, according to the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi (DoH). Four medical institutions have been closed while their employees are referred to the Public Prosecution for questioning, according to the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi (DoH).

In exchange for Dhs 100 each day of sick leave, the four facilities provided sick leave certificates over WhatsApp, according to the DoH, without the patients physically visiting the facilities.

False signatures on treatment consent papers are used to falsely record these leaves in the patients’ medical records. The crime was orchestrated across the four institutions by having certain people oversee the distribution of these fictitious sick days.

To protect the community’s health and safety, the DoH asked all medical facilities in the emirate to follow its guidelines. It highlighted how crucial it is to keep delivering healthcare services by international best practices and the strictest guidelines for accountability, openness, and dependability.
