Sharjah has expanded its global publishing role and solidified its position as a premier hub for books, reading, and information by securing the exclusive rights to run BookXcess outlets throughout the Middle East and Africa.
The deal strengthens the emirate’s role in promoting reading and expanding access to books by giving Sharjah authority over the creation, management, and operation of the BookXcess retail concept throughout the Middle East and Africa.
The news was made while a delegation from the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), headed by SBA Chairperson Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, visited BookXcess at Sunway. There, Big Bad Wolf Sharjah, an SBA subsidiary, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BookXcess Malaysia.
The collaboration demonstrates the SBA and BookXcess Malaysia’s shared dedication to lowering the cost and increasing accessibility of books, encouraging a culture of reading, and bolstering the Middle East and African publishing and bookselling industries.Sheikha Bodour visited the bookstore, which is known for reimagining the classic bookstore as a cultural and community destination that blends literature, public interaction, and cutting-edge retail design.
