
The Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah held an official dinner at The Chedi Al Bait Hotel as part of its continuous efforts to promote trade and economic cooperation with Belgium. Along with diplomats, investors, and high-ranking officials from both sides, the event was attended by Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of DGR, and Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the United Arab Emirates.
The event, which sought to find new opportunities for cooperation and investment, demonstrated Sharjah’s strategic commitment to strengthening its economic links with the European Union. It was a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and perspectives while exploring feasible ways to enhance economic cooperation in line with the emirate’s broader development objectives.
Among the notable guests were Edith Mayeux, the Trade Commissioner for the Walloon area; Laurence Heyblom, the Trade Commissioner for Brussels; Albert Feytons, the Science and Technology Commissioner for Flanders; and Joren Selleslaghs, the Political Affairs Adviser and Deputy Head of the Belgian Diplomatic Mission. Senior Sharjah officials accompanied them, including Omar Al Mulla, CEO of Sharjah Asset Management; Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of the Sharjah FDI Office; Khaled Al Huraimel, CEO of BEEAH Group; and Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, SRTI Park.
