The Malta Tourism Authority and Emirates Collaborate to Promote Inward Travel

To promote inbound travel through cooperative marketing initiatives, Emirates Airlines and the Malta Tourism Authority have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). At ITB Berlin, Germany’s top travel trade show, Carlo Micallef, CEO of Malta Tourism Authority, and Thierry Aucoc, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations (West) Europe and Americas, of Emirates, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

Emirates will market Malta as a top vacation spot through this strategic partnership by utilizing its wide-ranging worldwide network. Organizing media familiarization trips from important target markets will be one of the primary measures to highlight Malta’s distinct appeal as a Mediterranean gateway. To create attractive promotional packages, the two organizations will further investigate cooperative marketing initiatives and partnerships with travel agencies and tour operators.

Malta has been an essential destination in our European network for over 20 years, and we’ve seen its growing popularity as a sought-after leisure gateway over the years,” stated Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates. With this deal, we pledge to help Malta’s tourist sector by using our global presence to increase inbound travel.
