According to a recent research, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are tied for first place in the world for ease of entrance. On Kearney’s Global Cities Index, Dubai maintained its top spot in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, placing in the top 25 for the fourth year in a row and 24th overall.
Under the human capital dimension, ease of entrance is a new indicator that highlights how well cities attract and retain international talent.
According to the survey, Saudi Arabia’s cities of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Dammam showed flexibility in the face of international economic and geopolitical difficulties. The commercial activity component of Dammam had a notable 19-rank growth, mostly due to a 71% increase in the city’s services sector, which saw the establishment of five of the world’s leading service companies. According to a statement, “this highlights the growing significance of services, especially in the GCC region, where economic diversification is a key priority.” Open immigration laws aimed at luring talent have propelled Abu Dhabi and Dubai to the top of the rankings, while Riyadh witnessed a substantial bump in the rankings for unicorn companies, the statement added.
