Trump’s Gaza plan’s Arab Summit has Been Rescheduled for Friday

Arab diplomats announced Monday that a Saudi Arabian summit of Arab leaders, which was scheduled to address US President Donald Trump’s proposal to seize control of Gaza, has been extended and postponed by one day. According to a Saudi source, the mini Arab summit in Riyadh has been rescheduled from Thursday to Friday, February 21. An official Arab source verified the updated date.

Although three Arab nations were anticipated to attend the summit, the Saudi source stated that the expanded gathering will “include the leaders of the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries along with Egypt and Jordan to discuss Arab alternatives to Trump’s plans in the Gaza Strip.” The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and other countries are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Without naming the nation in question, the Saudi source claimed that “an influential Gulf country expressed its dissatisfaction at being excluded from the Riyadh summit, which prompted the organisers to include all the Gulf countries.

Experts claim that Trump’s plan to seize control of the war-torn Gaza Strip and relocate its more than two million inhabitants to Jordan or Egypt would be illegal under international law. The idea of forcing Palestinians off their homeland has been universally opposed by Arab nations.
