An Italian Visitor in Dubai is Daved by a 12-hour Intricate Medical Procedure

The main aorta of the heart was severely torn in a 54-year-old Italian tourist, which decreased blood supply to crucial organs and limbs. As a high-risk cardiac surgery, this ailment required immediate medical attention in order to save lives.

At Saudi German Hospital in Dubai, specialised medical experts carried out a 12-hour complicated surgical procedure. In order to reconstruct the major blood vessels and restore normal blood flow, the ascending aorta and a portion of the aortic arch were replaced during the treatment.

According to Saudi German Hospital in Dubai’s Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Dr. Basil Al Zamkan, aortic dissection is a potentially lethal ailment that is marked by the development of a rip in the aorta’s inner layer. If left untreated, this may cause severe internal bleeding and ultimately result in abrupt cardiac death.

By using echocardiography to identify patients with hypertension or a family history of the condition, it is possible to identify those who are at risk early on and assist avert consequences. Dr. Ahmed Issa, Regional CEO of the Saudi German Hospital Group-UAE, has affirmed that the hospital stands out for offering emergency and critical care, guaranteeing that patients receive the most up-to-date technologies.
