A series of projects totaling over Dhs7.1 million are being carried out by the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) to enhance and extend the natural gas network in different parts of Sharjah City. The initiatives aim to develop infrastructure, meet rising demand, and provide consumers with high-quality services in accordance with global safety standards.
Among the projects currently underway in Sharjah City is the 9,343-meter-long Al Hamah Gas Transmission Line Project, which costs Dhs3.3 million, according to Ibrahim Al Balghouni, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA. We anticipate finishing the project in full by September 2026, and it is already 90% complete.
The 10-kilometer natural gas network in Al Muwardah 6 is also being developed by the authority, with a cost of Dhs843,244. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of March 2027 and is now 20% complete. An 8.9-kilometer natural gas network, valued at Dhs1.16 million, is being developed in Al Badea District by the authority. The projected completion date for the project is the end of March 2027, and it is now 25% complete.
