Korea and Sharjah will Improve Trade and Investment Ties

Halima Humaid Ali Al Owais, Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council and Board Member of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), led the organization’s official business trip to the friendly Republic of Korea. The group included thirty notable businesswomen, female entrepreneurs, and leaders of Sharjah’s investment, entrepreneurship, and economic ecosystems.

The purpose was to increase the worldwide presence and competitiveness of Sharjah’s business community, broaden SCCI’s international economic network, and create new avenues for trade and investment collaboration.

In collaboration with UAE and Korean organisations, such as the Embassy of the brotherly Republic of Korea to the UAE, Korea International Trade Association (KITA), Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC), Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa), Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park), and Korea-Arab Society (KAS), the program included official meetings, business-to-business engagements, field visits, and economic events.

In addition to investigating prospects for strategic alliances, investment, and knowledge sharing, the program improved direct commercial relations between the two parties. One of the mission’s main highlights was the signing of two strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the Sharjah-Korea Businesswomen Forum. SCCI and KAS signed the first, while the Korea Venture Business Women Association (KOVWA) signed the second.
