A Helicopter Collision in Los Angeles Lost Three Lives

A helicopter crashed in the Chatsworth neighbourhood of Los Angeles on Tuesday nite, killing three persons and injuring a fourth, according to a social media post by the Los Angeles Fire Department. According to the fire service, four persons were evaluated on the scene; three were declared deceased and one was taken to a nearby hospital in an unspecified condition.

According to broadcast footage from NBC Los Angeles and the L.A. Fire Department, the plane crashed in a parking lot near a self-storage facility in the San Fernando Valley suburb of Chatsworth. The news station, which was connected to Angel City Air and operated the aircraft, announced that it had lost communication with the people inside.

Anchor Colleen Williams stated, “We knew it was a news helicopter, we knew we’d lost contact with our people out there, and we’ve just received the confirmation that, in fact, NewsChopper 4 went down just before seven o’clock tonight in Chatsworth. Williams said, her voice growing emotional, “We’re going to take a couple of minutes to think about that, to process and to regroup.”
