Alexander Stubb, President of the Republic of Finland, called His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to discuss measures to further bilateral relations in support of shared objectives.
In order to support the development goals of both nations and their peoples, the two sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to improving UAE-Finland relations and growing cooperation, particularly in the areas of the economy, education, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
Sheikh Mohamed and the president of Finland also talked about developments in the Middle East and their grave consequences for peace and security on a regional and global scale, as well as their effects on maritime security and the world economy.
President Stubb reaffirmed Finland’s denunciation of the Iranian attacks on citizens and civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates, pointing out that they violate both international law and Finland’s sovereignty. Additionally, he reaffirmed Finland’s solidarity with the UAE and its support for all actions taken to protect its security, sovereignty, and citizens’ safety.
