An Asian gang of fifteen has been apprehended by the Ajman Police for engaging in fraudulent operations. The suspects had been misleading them by asking people to update their official documents or banking information. They had been posing as government agents to set up a situation where their victims would be tricked and then give up their money.
The Director of the Criminal Investigation Department of Ajman Police, Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, said there had been instances of people engaging in deceptive behavior by lying to others over the phone. These criminals used phone cards registered with false data and documents while posing as officials to force their targets to update their financial information or personal documents, including identification cards.
Detectives from the Ajman Police Department searched and investigated the group, leading to the arrest of 15 Asian nationals. 19 mobile phones that were used in the fraudulent activities were also seized. When questioned about the incident, the suspects acknowledged defrauding several people. They were therefore placed under arrest until the outcome of the legal action taken against them.
The director of Ajman Police’s criminal investigation department praised the effectiveness and background of the department’s staff, highlighting their attempts to capture the accused. Additionally, the Director made a public statement advising people to ignore such calls and to notify the authorities right once.
