The RTA in Dubai Opens a Crucial Bridge to Reduce Travel Time by 67%

A crucial bridge that connects Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street in the direction of the Infinity Bridge has been inaugurated by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The recently opened structure is 985 meters long, has two lanes, and can handle up to 3,200 cars per hour.

The Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project’s Phase 4 includes the bridge. It runs 4.8 kilometres from the Sheikh Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street intersection to the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street.

To meet the emirate’s expanding urban and demographic demands along the Al Shindagha Corridor, RTA is still dedicated to carrying out the directions of Dubai’s leadership by creating projects that improve the local road system and traffic flow.

As a result, by allowing traffic to flow freely over the new bridge without stopping at traffic signals, the new bridge will relieve traffic and drastically cut down the travel time for drivers going from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge via Al Mina Street by 67%, from 12 to 4 minutes.

Five more bridges, totalling 3.1 kilometres in length, are part of Phase 4, which is intended to handle 19,400 cars per hour in all lanes. Along with improvements to important surface junctions on Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Street, Al Mina Street, and Jumeirah Street, the scope includes 4.8 km of road renovations. Additionally, there are plans for two pedestrian bridges: one on Al Mina Street and one on Sheikh Rashid Road.
