According to Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with American negotiators on Ukraine, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, for three hours and ten minutes. More than three hours, or more accurately, three hours and ten minutes, passed during the meeting. He told TASS that it was “substantial, constructive, extremely frank, and trusting.
Both at the [working] table and informally at the dinner table, really serious matters continued to be discussed,” Ushakov stated.According to the Kremlin aide, the Russian president also emphasised the necessity of addressing the “root causes” of the conflict, discussed the advancements made by Russian soldiers on the battlefield, and expressed confidence that Moscow will succeed in its goals.
Ushakov recalled that US President Donald Trump had asked US envoys Witkoff and Kushner to travel to Moscow on September 5th in order to continue the conversation about settling the Ukrainian conflict and other urgent matters. This is their eighth trip to our nation. President Vladimir Putin welcomed the US delegates and openly praised the role of the US negotiators and the intermediary channel of negotiations at the start of the meeting, Ushakov said.
