Will gas prices in the United Arab Emirates rise in February 2025

In order to keep up with the world oil prices, which surpassed $81 per barrel in January 2025, it is anticipated that petrol prices in the United Arab Emirates will rise in February 2025.

Uncertainty over US President Donald Trump’s tariff and sanctions policies affecting Russian petroleum exports caused oil prices to rise in January. The UAE may see increased petrol prices in February as a result of these international causes.

In January 2024, Brent oil averaged about $77.55 per barrel, while in December 2024, it was $73 per barrel. In January 2025, the prices of Super 98, Special 95, and E-Plus per litre in the United Arab Emirates were Dh2.61, Dh2.50, and Dh2.43, respectively. The cost of diesel was Dh2.68 per litre. December 2024 saw the lowest petrol prices in a year, and they stayed that way in January 2025.

Retail petrol prices for the following month are issued at the end of each month to bring them into line with international rates since the United Arab Emirates deregulated petrol prices in 2015. WTI was up 0.3 percent at $73.99 a barrel at midday on Wednesday, while Brent was up 0.17 percent at $77.62 a barrel.

According to Century Financial’s chief investment officer, Vijay Valecha, Brent hit $81 a barrel, its highest level in over four months, as broader US penalties are anticipated to impact Russian petroleum deliveries to major consumers China and India.
