An Indian expat based in Bahrain has become the latest multi-millionaire after winning Dhs20 million in the Big Ticket draw conducted in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Krishna Kumar Syamala Ravindran was unveiled as the top prize winner, taking home a Dhs20 million victory, while MD Ranu Miah Miah won the keys to a brand-new Range Rover Velar.
Kumar, a 43-year-old businessman from Kerala, has been residing in Bahrain for the last 23 years with his family back home. He has been taking part in Big Ticket drawings for the last seven years.
Reflecting on his path, Krishna said, “I’ve been involved since roughly when COVID started, close to seven years ago. Sometimes I’d buy tickets with a small group of pals, sometimes I’d participate alone. “This winning ticket was bought separately.
“I actually missed the call at first because my phone was switched off,” he said, recalling the triumphant moment. I eventually discovered out I had won and was in total disbelief. I genuinely was shaking and still can’t believe it. Krishna further said the winning ticket was selected completely at random.
