Prior to the summer, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has verified that air-conditioned rest spaces for delivery riders are fully operational. The project is a component of RTA’s initiatives to improve rider quality of life, lower the risk of accidents, increase traffic safety, and promote adherence to traffic laws and regulations.
Hessa Street, Al Khawaneej, Al Barsha, Al Satwa, Oud Maitha, Al Karama, and Arjan are just a few of the important locations in Dubai where all 40 air-conditioned rest spaces allocated for delivery riders have undergone maintenance and preparation. Operational data and a thorough analysis of the delivery zones with the highest demand, carried out in collaboration with delivery providers, served as the basis for site selection.
The program demonstrates RTA’s dedication to offering delivery riders a specially designed workspace that allows them to carry out their jobs efficiently and safely, especially in view of the industry’s notable expansion in recent years due to the growing demand for delivery services from the general public.
Traffic safety remains RTA’s highest priority, in line with our ambition to make Dubai a world leader in this field,” said Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licencing Agency. For the delivery industry, we have created an integrated governance system that guarantees efficient oversight throughout Dubai and helps to consistently improve service standards.
