The United Arab Emirates Evacuates 127 Wounded, Cancerous, and Family Members from Gaza

The United Arab Emirates carried out the 23rd evacuation flight in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) as part of a humanitarian effort to transport 702 family members and 55 critically injured individuals and patients from the Gaza Strip, including children and cancer patients in need of intensive care, from Israel’s Ramon airport via the Karam Abu Salam crossing to receive medical care in the nation’s hospitals.

The evacuation of the wounded Palestinians and cancer patients is a component of the plan that the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, started in October 2023 to treat 1,000 children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in UAE hospitals.

In the face of the ongoing catastrophe, this initiative underscores the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. It highlights the critical need for humanitarian intervention to save lives. The UAE’s numerous channels of contact continue to support humanitarian initiatives to aid Gazans and provide support during their time of need.

To give Palestinians who are ill or seriously injured access to cutting-edge medical care, the UAE has made significant efforts. 50,489 cases have been treated at the UAE field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip since it opened on December 2, 2023. The hospital floating ship docked in Al Arish Port has also handled 8,597 cases since its inception in February 2024.
